Duchess Morwen Daggerford is the human ruler of Daggerford and a member of the Daggerford noble family. She inherited the ducal title after her younger brother, Duke Maldwyn Daggerford, following the suspension of Daggerford's traditional male-preference primogeniture. She is also associated with the Lords' Alliance.
Before becoming Duchess, Morwen served as Daggerford's Master of Arms and military commander of the Ducal Castle. She remains closely involved with the town's militia and is known to train alongside its soldiers. She regularly visits the local shrine of Tempus and is widely recognized as a martial, hands-on ruler.
Morwen has a stern, unsentimental manner and is not especially warm on first acquaintance. Even so, she has a reputation for being honorable, capable, and genuinely concerned with Daggerford's welfare. Many locals considered her better suited to rule than her brother even before she became Duchess.
Before the campaign begins, the party completed several tasks in or around Daggerford and became known to Duchess Morwen. Their prior dealings with her have established them as adventurers she recognizes and has reason to regard as capable.
